Martina Martian, a Sydney-based Graphic Designer and Illustrator, travels around the world and illustrates for a living. She creates bold and bright illustrations about embracing life and positive thinking, as well as GIFs and stickers for Instagram. Snapchat, Reebok Classic, Nike Sportswear, ASOS, IKEA and Doughnut Time are all her clients. Right now, she's in Europe on a 100-day adventure, illustrating and getting inspiration along the way.

I got to be creative and create something colorful for a brand I really love!_Martina.
She named her graffiti backpacks 'Self Love' and 'Paradise'. 'Self Love' is about expressing boldly and proudly that you love and care for yourself, while 'Paradise' is about bringing that tropical feeling everywhere with you!

Please describe the style of your artworks.
Bright, bold and positive designs with an 80’s/90’s feel.

Where do you usually get inspiration?
I usually find inspiration from old book covers, records, products and TV shows from the 80’s and 90’s.

What are things that you would never do in this life?
I would never stay in one place my whole life, or forget the things I’m passionate about.

Who are your favorite artists on Instagram?
Currently, I’m loving the work of @artbabygirl @elfriede_s and @rgb. All women illustrators who are very talented and use bright colors.

What’s your daily style?
I love sneakers and baggy clothes!

What's a talent that you really wish you had but you don't?
I really wish I could animate cartoons- it’s something I’m definitely trying to learn this year!

What’s your favorite travel destination so far?
So far my favorite place has been Cinque Terre, Italy. It’s as pretty as a postcard and very safe for a solo female traveler like me!

Somewhere you must go in 2018?
The no.1 place I want to go to in 2018 is Cappadocia, Turkey.

That I create positive work to keep myself happy too, as well as others :)

What advice would you give to young artists?
Find something you're passionate about and make art about it. Create work just for fun. Always make art that you like. Your art should be for yourself as much as anyone else.
