Collaborated with JumpFromPaper, Pamela Sustaita used lots of colors in her arts to represent her spirited style.

Pamela named her cartoon backpack "kaleidoscope games". She thinks the use of the colors and the shapes of the composition reminds her of the view through a kaleidoscope, the splash of colors talks about fun, games but also sadness and really deep feelings that play with the image of a tiny and calm lamb.

The use of colors is very Pam and is also the reflection of her own interior. "I really do hope that if you look inside my throat, you will see all these colors.", she said.

  • There’s always a doodle in your artwork. Does it have any special meaning?
It refers to a gestural stroke but I think it's me trying to express my most true feelings and intentions as I’m drawing, I’ll always admire my drawing of it when I was a little kid, it seemed like nothing made sense but it sure makes more sense than now.

  • If you were a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

The color that helps you seeing everything as through a kaleidoscope

  • Could you please share with people why you want to become an artist?
I do consider myself already an artist, from the moment I took my crayon box and spend almost every single time of my day drawing in the walls of my house. I decided to make this my career when I was 3 or 4 years old, I wanted to do in life what I enjoyed the most.
  • Describe the color blue to somebody who is born blind.

  • What is your favorite band?

Pink Floyd

  • Urban or Countryside? Why?

Urban, always. I love chaos and the juxtaposition of sounds and colors, it's always more exciting to be part of the rush of the big cities with lots of unexpected inspirations.

  • What city would you want to live in Japan? Why?

Tokyo! It never stops to amaze you, is full of magic!

  • What is your next step?

Finish art college, study my master in Japan and keep learning.

  • What advice would you give to young artists?
It might sound a cliche but truly, don’t give up on your dreams, but most of all work really hard and put extra effort in what you want the most, work every day and enjoy what you do, otherwise, nothing will make any sense.
